Providing digitization services and methodological support for digitization to faculties and departments of Charles University

The Center's goal is to provide services related to the digitization of documents, particularly the historical collections of Charles University's faculties and other departments, documents endangered by degradation of paper due to its acidity, documents published by Charles University, and (scarce) study literature. We predominantly digitize the documents to be published in the Charles University Digital Library Kramerius.

We are also able to provide methodological support to the digitization units of the Charles University's faculties and other departments in the areas of digital document management and processing, as well as in the areas of digitization standards and bibliographic description of documents; see the Methodological Support section.

Long-term collaboration with Charles University departments lacking adequate technical equipment

We aim to establish long-term partnerships with Charles University faculties and departments that lack the technical equipment needed to carry out their own digitization projects. If you are interested in using the equipment at the Charles University Digitization Center for your own digitization projects, feel free to contact us.

Providing reprographic and other ancillary services

In addition to the services listed above, we also offer additional services: OCR processing of documents, book cleaning, or document trimming (whether in preparation for digitization or for other purposes). Our portfolio of services is rounded out by large format printing (A0 format, ideal for printing technical drawings, posters, and similar types of documents).

Providing digitization services to the public

In addition to the above-mentioned services for the Charles University faculties and other departments, we also offer a digitization of chronicles and archival documents intended for the general public - including individual customers, municipalities, associations, businesses and others.
